Financial Assistance Appeal Process
Dear JCC Family,
Thank you for reaching out and inquiring about how to appeal your financial assistance determination. We are fortunate to work alongside the JCC Women’s Board, which is a volunteer organization that raises money to provide scholarship and fee assistance to those within our community affected by hardship. Should there be additional information you wish to share, please know the JCC Women’s Board has an appeals committee that meets monthly to review cases anonymously, for families with extenuating circumstances. You can submit an appeal through your FAST application to be considered for additional assistance.
To submit an appeal, please follow the steps below:
- Log onto your FAST application here >
- Select Resume Application, Application Info, then File an Appeal for JCC Chicago
- From there, please list the total dollar amount needed (including amount already received, if applicable) and write a one-page letter sharing any additional or changed circumstances we were not aware of in your initial application that would be helpful for us to know.
Please make sure to include the following in your appeal letter:
- Any very recent changes to income or employment status (not included in original application)
- Any extenuating circumstances or hardships not included in the original application (including but not limited to extreme medical debt/expenses, change in family size, etc.)
In order to keep your financial assistance case active, your appeal must be submitted within 7 days from your date of response to your determination letter. If your appeal is not received by this deadline, your original award amount will be automatically considered as ‘accepted’ and your financial assistance will be closed once your account has been adjusted. Once your case has been closed, standard payment and program cancellation policies apply.
Any questions should be directed to feeassistance@jccchicago.org.
Sincerely,
JCC Chicago Fee Assistance Team
